We arrived in Bahia de Los Angeles on November 15, 2021. We stayed at Guillermo’s Place for 5 nights and Campo Archelon for 4 nights. At both sites, we dry camped (no electric, water, or sewer). There is no cell service or internet except for public wifi in the restaurants. Bay of Los Angeles doesn’t have any ATMs, so planning on visiting, bring plenty of dollars and or pesos.
Guillermo’s Place has a restaurant that serves a variety of margaritas and has good food. They have public wifi so we spent a lot of time in their outdoor seating with the view of the bay.
Rick had a birthday during our stay here. Our waiter from Guillermo’s Restaurant went to the store and bought a package of hostess cupcake and placed a candle on it for him.
On the same day as Rick’s birthday, the Baja 1000 race passed through the town. All the town residents and friends and family of the racers lined the streets and partied all night. We shot a lot of videos but not many still pictures.
We met a father and son from Canada at the first campground. They asked if we wanted to split the cost of a boat tour and tour the islands off the coast of the bay of Los Angles to bird-watch. We had a great time. Not only did see a lot of cool birds but a lot of other wildlife too. We got to see starfish in the shallow waters. I was shocked just how fast starfish can travel, lol. We saw seals and bottleneck dolphins and even a fin whale from a distance.
Campo Archelon, the site of the now-defunct sea turtle rescue and research center in Bahia de Los Angeles. It is named after the genus of giant sea turtles that glided through the shallow seas of prehistoric North America 70 to 80 million years ago. Fossils reveal that Archelon was more than 15 feet long and 15 feet wide and weighed as much as a small pickup.
At this campground, all of the parking sites face the bay so everyone has great views, some spots have palapas to use. This is nice for people who travel in vans or tent camps. They have clean bathrooms and hot showers. They also have a restaurant/coffee bar with a public wife.
At low tide the shore is rocky and at high tide it’s sandy. We walked the long beach in both directions a collected a bunch of cool seashells.

We enjoyed our stay here at the Bahia de Los Angeles. Time to hit the road, next stop San Ignacio located in Baja Sur (South Baja).
